The Audubon Society of Florida was started in Maitland in Central Florida, just a short walk from Thurston House bed & breakfast. This rehabilitation center is home to many species, including eagle, kestrel, kite, osprey and more. Some that are brought to the center are rehabilitated then released, some are hurt too bad so they make the center their home for the rest of their days.
Sitting on the Thurston House Bed & Breakfast front wraparound porch is like visiting a mini-wildlife center. From the cardinals hopping around among the bushes, to the fast moving hummingbirds among the hibiscus, to the osprey fishing in the lake…COME SEE!
