Enjoy the beautiful view of the continually-blooming perennial garden and herb beds. This breezy classic style room gently borrows from the gardens with its light floral decor. In addition to the queen-sized cast iron bed, a pine writing desk is conveniently tucked into a corner window allowing you to view the gardens as you work, while a pair of winged-back chairs gives you comfortable space for reading or TV watching. The en-suite bathroom boasts a charming pedestal sink and a standard-sized tub with shower.

Hirsch Room

The Hirsch is our most spacious guest room and closest to the sleeping porch overlooking Lake Eulalia. Painted a deep period blue, it is furnished with a romantic four-poster bed sitting a little higher than most. The original mantle piece, writing desk and Queen-Anne style chests nod to its history. A settee next to the windows offers a comfortable spot for enjoying a favorite book or show. The en-suite bathroom boasts a restored original claw-foot tub with overhead shower.

*Note: the tub has a higher side than standard tubs and requires a little more “finesse” to step in and out. While a rubber safety mat is provided, if you’re uncertain in any way, please consider a different room.

O’Heir Room

The O’Heir boasts a bay window looking over the front lawn down to Lake Eulalia. This mesmerizing view, along with its vibrant red color, has made it the undisputed guest favorite. Facing eastward, the O’Heir gets the first of the morning light through creamy sheer curtains, great for early risers. For those wanting to sleep a bit longer, there are blackout drapes that darken the room nicely. As the original “main” bedroom of the house, it displays the most elaborate mantle made of century-old cypress wood. A queen reproduction iron sleigh bed, writing desk with chair, cable TV, along with a pair of stylish slipper chairs make for very comfortable accommodations. The en-suite bathroom has a standard size tub with shower and tile surround.

What Our Guests are Saying:

“After looking at numerous hotels in the Orlando area, most of which were the same understated mid-century style, we found Thurston House. A gem in the plethora of typical hotel choices. From the location set on a lake in an orange orchard to the architectural beauty of the historic home, to the room appointments, incredible breakfasts and treats, and the most gracious and knowledgeable proprietor Thurston House was wonderful. Thurston House is a lovely retreat from the turmoil and rush of the area. A special place for couples and individuals alike. We will return when in the area.” Nancy G. Read More Reviews!
