Nature Lover’s Guided River Cruise Package
Experience the stunning beauty of Central Florida’s lakes and wildlife parks with a 2-hour narrated cruise along the scenic St. Johns River. From a covered pontoon boat, spot manatees, alligators, herons, and scrub jays, while learning about the river’s rich history from your experienced guide. The best time for manatee sightings is November through March. Cruises depart from Blue Spring State Park, about 30 minutes north of our B&B near Orlando. Choose from the 10 AM or 1 PM cruise when booking your package. The package price is in addition to a 2-night lodging rate.
Florida Getaway Package Includes:
- Two cruise tickets for a reserved day and time.
- State park entrance fee.
- Light picnic lunch for two in a soft-sided cooler (includes bottled water or soft drinks).
- Keepsake Thurston House logo tote with sunscreen, a logo cap (to keep), and borrowed field glasses/binoculars.
- For weekend visitors, add a scenic nature driving tour on Lake Apopka North Shore with an audio tour and a tour map, plus extra snacks for the car (no additional cost).
- Optional paddling/kayaking options available upon request.

Bridesmaids Party Get-Ready Package
While we don’t host weddings at Thurston House, we delight in helping couples make their special day memorable. Book our charming venue for a fun and relaxing pre-ceremony gathering with your bridesmaids. Lounge around in your robes and laugh until you can’t any more. Then use our beautiful common areas to get ready together in the hours leading up to your wedding. Thurston House is only minutes to several historic wedding venues like Capen House, Casa Feliz and the Maitland Art & History Museum.
Package Includes:
- Accommodations: 3 queen guest rooms with ensuite baths
- Early Check-In: 2 PM

Cooking School Culinary Vacation Package
Imagine spending several days relaxing, exploring, learning, and eating as the true “foodie” you are. At Thurston House, a bed & breakfast near Orlando, we offer a unique culinary vacation experience led by our owner and innkeeper, Bev Fuller. Our three-day, two-night Culinary Vacation Cooking Class Retreat is exclusive to B&B guests and features a variety of food experiences. Each day, you’ll engage in hands-on exploration of new flavors, spices, and fresh ingredients. You’ll prepare B&B breakfast favorites, create new recipes, learn secrets from a local French chef, and maybe acquire new techniques for your kitchen. This retreat is perfect for all levels of cooking enthusiasts. After each lesson, enjoy the meals you and your fellow culinary adventurers have created, fostering new friendships and engaging in delightful conversations around the table.
Your Culinary Vacation Includes:
- Three days of culinary experiences: Begins with early check-in (2:00 PM) Monday afternoon and ends around noon on Wednesday.
- 2 nights queen accommodations with ensuite bath at Thurston House (lodging cost separate).
- Snacks and drinks upon arrival to help you settle in.
- 2 Breakfasts and 2 dinners with plenty of nibbles during cooking classes.
