Another announcemnet today states that John Voight will be attending this years festival. The Enzian Theater, as well as many other things to do and see, is just moments from Thurston House. The festival is 3/27 through 4/5.
Art of the Seminole is the latest exhibit at the Maitland Art Center. Featuring Art of the Seminole Indians from 1820-1950, this exhibit should be quite interesting! The center is just a short walk or drive from Thurston House bed & breakfast.

The Art of Ganesh is the latest exhibit at this wonderful museum. 
The exhibit runs through 2/22/09. The Maitland Art Center facility is on the National Historic Register and is an easy walk or drive from Thurston House.
We have a wonderful city here and they are always looking for new programs to offer to its residents. We now have a FIT-ness for Family program with wellness instructor Sher’re Myers. So far I have enjoyed yoga, pilates and core fitness. The good part about it for me is that they have 11am classes, good timing for my day, and only cost $5! There are also earlier classes and evening ones, but with an innkeepers schedule they would be difficult to go to. Guests can also go to these classes, good for that traveling business person or someone here for a few days visiting their family. 
We took a beautiful walk yesterday over to our local farmer’s market. Got some Winter Park Honey bears and a great big lemon! I think I can make 10 lemon breads from that lemon! On the way back we visited neighbors who have a great hobby…driving their 1931 Model A. They were all spiffed up for their yearly Christmas gathering and were just heading out. Joe wanted to make you think this was his! It does fit nicely with the ambience of Thurston House, our Maitland bed & breakfast near Winter Park.
